Mike Toomey, 49, only recently became acquainted with overland/expedition style travel. By that time, his 1986 Toyota 4Runner was well on it’s way to becoming a rockcrawler. He is currently still evaluating if the truck can comfortably handle both tasks. Coming from a hiking and backpacking background, Mike still adheres to the minimalist or “less is more” approach to travel. At just shy of 250,000 miles he hope to have many more years of useful service from his faithful truck. He will be joining the group fro the last 2 to 3 days of the trip.
